Food was really good. I got a crab cake sandwich and Mr Krabs made me really happy soo. The ginger beer I had was good until it hit the back of my throat and felt like tv static. Overall still an amazing experience. I ended up playing the piano for the guests and waitresses and got a lil tip and they invited me back to play every Friday but unfortunately I'm not local. I'll be back!!

All the food is great! The service was very friendly. Love to go there for a special night out .

Service excellent, food delicious. Train depot fascinating. A touch of history Occasionally a train will go by delighting the children and adults alike.

We decided to come here on our way to Knoebels. A little out of our was but hubby is a train buff. Starting with the facility-it is a beautifully restored train station on the RR tracks in Tamaqua, Pa. Soft lighting, very comfortable temperature on a very hot day. We both ordered soup-French onion and chicken corn noodle. Both were delicious. The chicken soup was filled with chicken. I got the special app of the day-potato skins with bacon, cheddar and a BBQ ranch drizzle. It was very good. I also had the delicious pork dumpling with Thai chili sauce and teriyaki sauce. DH had the fish and chips. It looked like a big half a fish with a crispy coating along with fries. We would definitely come here again when we are in the area!

I had a pleasant time with my family here! The food was good and flavorful but what really drew me in was the fact that it's an old Train station! The server SUZANNE was wonderful she was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant/ station! It's amazing how the community came together to save such an amazing piece of history!

The food is great. I have celiac/ a gluten allergy and they are able to accommodate. The owner even looked up ingredients personally for me when I asked about a specific drink. Love the ambience, it is in the old remodeled train station with so much character.

We just had lunch there. The atmosphere was simply old world charm. One guest had the Turkey Rachel and he really enjoyed it. I had a burger and it tasted delicious and like it came off an outdoor grill. We were full so we took dessert home. The staff was very attentive and very pleasant. We will return

12/11/21 I was celebrating my 20 year "workiversary" and I really wanted to try The Station for dinner. I had heard so many good things about the restaurant and had already come off of a great experience for brunch. We had a party of 6 in our group and Steve was our waiter. His service was impeccable! I was astonished to learn that he will be turning 70! I've done that job in my 40's and despite regularly working out, I felt like I had been hit by a truck following a busy Saturday night. I digress. Steve was extremely knowledgeable about the menu down to the very last detail. We feasted like royalty and have some amazing leftovers in our future today. The lobby entrance was aglow with a beautiful Christmas Tree, wreaths bedecked the doors and lights adorned the exterior- just so beautiful. There were quaint Christmas decorations on fireplace mantles and windows sills. Our small town needs businesses like this. We tried so many appetizers and thoroughly enjoyed crab stuffed mushrooms, crab risotto, shrimp cocktail, hand cut deep fried mozzarella cheese, & bacon wrapped shrimp brushed W BBQ sauce, each one so savory. Our salads were amazing and I don't get too excited about salads as a rule. We had the salad with balsamic and blue cheese. This salad had sliced pears, abundant tangy blue cheese and a generous amount of robust walnuts. We were also given raspberry sorbet before our meals. So classy! Think I've only ever experienced that at one other restaurant- it was served in an ice cold shot glass with a miniature spoon. Entrees! Most of us ordered the surf and turf- lobster tail and filet. We had an order at our table for prime rib that looked and tasted amazing and a chicken parm entree which also scored high marks. The lobster was so sweet and succulent. I enjoy letting mine simmer in the butter warmer. We all chose mashed potatoes and the veggie was broccoli with a light cheese sauce that came on the side. We were ultra pleased with the food quality and the way the kitchen executed all of our food. I ordered our appetizers with our drinks thinking they may take a while- but they did not. The pacing of our dining was great too. I was reluctant to order my entree before receiving our appetizers thinking it may all come out together. Our waiter, Steve, reassured me that would not happen and that the restaurant runs like a "well oiled machine"- he was correct-100%! The only suggestion I might make would be to garnish surf and turf- it was served plain on the plate but it was simply delicious. Dessert is a favorite for me and I chose the seasonal "cookies for Santa". I love special desserts that are unique and have variety. The dessert I chose had two raspberry thumb print cookies, two chocolate covered peanut butter ritz-cookies-crackers- they resembled choc covered Oreos , and two pistachio macarons that were so light and melt in the mouth. I liked how they served a warm portion of chocolate sauce- it was terrific! The owner-manager stopped by, Mel. We told her what an amazing restaurant she was running. Steve, our waiter even took photos of us at our table and offered to take pictures around the Christmas Tree. The restaurant gave us a "Merry Christmas" card for dining in January that has a scratch off "secret discount". An expert move to drive business into the new year. You can bet I'll be redeeming that. My family ordered cocktails and they were pleased with the pours. In particular my son and his fiancée ordered Baileys and coffee and he reported that the drink was half baileys. They have a very innovative extensive drink menu if you enjoy cocktails. I cannot wait to go back again. We loved Steve- the service was smooth, efficient, and perfection.

Didn't have the kids with us for lunch today, so we came here as we were in the area. We had a nice lunch. TSR seems to be one of the nicer restaurants in Tamaqua and at least their entree prices reflect it. The other things on the menu seem to be more reasonably priced and I'm glad we came for lunch and not dinner. I included menu pictures as of today for reference. I had an appetizer of the soup of the day which was chicken quesadilla. How they get that flavor into a soup is beyond me but it definitely tasted like a thick chicken quesadilla. It was quite nice. For a main, I went with a Turkey Rachel which is turkey, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese, and coleslaw on toasted rye bread. It came with a side of fries. Wife had a side Caesar salad which was nice but nothing great, and a black bean burger which she liked a lot but was on the spicy side. The fries we both got were just enough portion sized and well done like we asked for. My sandwich was nicely crispy bread and tasty insides but I did not feel 100% on the way home; it could have really been the heat or the combo with the alcohol, but the taste of the Rachel was in my mouth so I was not feeling it. I ordered a Yuengling Flight expecting four 4oz pours of different Yuengling beers they had available, but really got a pint of their low-calorie beer, Flight. When I said this to our waitress, she did bring out three 2oz pours of a regular Yuengling, a Summer Shandy, and a Breakfast Stout. Two of the three I liked and she certainly did not have to do this, but I truly appreciate the effort made. I also had a mojito and the wife had a French martini both of which hit the spot. The restaurant is actually a converted train station, and there's memorabilia around to look at. There are active train tracks right next to the place and we were told trains still run along, especially the heavy coal trains. A rarity among restaurants, TSR brought a dessert tray to our table with today's selections. I chose a vanilla mascarpone cake, and wife chose a berry pie. Both desserts left us stuffed and were nice and fresh. Service was more than attentive and got a nice tip for going above and beyond with the beer issue. Just about $75 for two of us for lunch not including tip. Two cocktails, two appetizers, a beer, two mains, and two desserts. Quite enjoyable.
